I am very pleased to share we have launched the 11th volume of The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship with the following two articles:
Marini A., (2021) “Discursive (Re)Contruction of Mexican American Identity in J. Gonzo’s La Mano del Destino”, The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship 11(1). doi: https://doi.org/10.16995/cg.211
Commins J., (2021) “Composing the Handmaid: From Graphic Novel to Protest Icon”, The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship 11(1). doi: https://doi.org/10.16995/cg.214
These are the first wo articles we publish since we migrated from Ubiquity Press to Janeway Systems.
Janeway is a digital platform for publishing scholarly articles online, developed by Professor Martin Eve, Mauro Sanchez and Andy Byers at the Centre for Technology and Publishing, Birkbeck, University of London, and the Open Library of Humanities, UK. It is used by the Open Library of Humanities, Iowa State Digital Press, Huddersfield University Press, ID Pro, UCL Press, Michigan Publishing, the University of Essex and the University of West London and will soon be in use by California Digital Library to support preprints projects.
We hope you like the new look of the journal. Thank you Andy, Mauro, Martin, Rose, Paula and everyone at OLH.
I remain immensely grateful to everyone at Ubiquity Press for 7 years of incredible support- the journal would not be what it is now without them.
If you like the work that the Open Library of Humanities is doing, please consider asking your institution to support us financially. We cannot operate without our library members. More details for libraries can be found here: https://www.openlibhums.org/plugins/supporters/signup/.
